Summer Bucket List

Sunny days, spending time outside and being with friends and family are some of the best parts of the season. There may be a lot of things you want to do and you might not know where to start. So why not create a summer bucket list of activities and try to cross them off over the next few months? Below are some suggestions for activities to keep you busy and have the best summer!

Appreciate nature

If you live in an area with long cold winter months, the summer is a much-needed break for warmth and sunshine. Getting outdoors and spending time in nature is a great way to make the most of the pleasant weather. Going for a hike, planning a camping trip with friends or going for a bike ride are all activities you can try to do this summer. If you enjoy spending time in the water, visit nearby beaches or try out a water activity like kayaking or rafting. For those who want something more relaxing, a picnic in the park is always enjoyable!

Learn something new

With longer days, you may feel inspired to pick up a new hobby or try something new. This is a great time if you are looking to learn a new outdoor activity or sport. For example, maybe you want to grow some new plants and expand your garden with seasonal fruits and vegetables. If you enjoy being active, pick up a sport such as pickleball or beach volleyball. If you are trying to get into reading, find a new novel to read by the beach or pool. You can learn a new skill or expand your knowledge over the summer in many ways.

Spend time with loved ones

During the summer, many of us embrace quality time. With school out, it’s the perfect time to plan activities or trips with friends and family. Some suggestions to reconnect are planning a family reunion, hosting a summer BBQ, or going on a road trip. Whether you stay close to home or travel far, the summer is a great opportunity to catch up with our nearest and dearest.

Enjoy the season

You may think that summer comes and goes too quickly, so make sure you embrace what the season has to offer. Preparing meals with fresh produce (maybe even go pick it yourself), eating outdoors and enjoying cold treats like ice cream and popsicles are all ways your palette can appreciate summer. Watching a sunset or stargazing at night are beautiful ways to spend your warm evenings. Think about your favourite parts of summer and make the most of it!
